Dust jacket unclipped, loss at head, chipping and tears at edges, split at front panel meeting spine. Royal blue boards with gilt-stamped decoration. The popular illustrations by E. H. Shepard were originally published in the UK in an edition in 1931 and then in the US in 1933, are thought to have been authorized since Grahame was pleased with the initial sketches, although he did not live to see the finished work.
