Signed by Thomas Edison and Meadowcroft. The 1921 edition of “The Boys’ Life of Edison” hardcover by Harper & Brothers. Book is in good+ condition with normal wear, but why it stands apart is it is both signed by Thomas Edison and inscribed and signed by author Meadowcroft.

Biography of the great inventor by William Meadowcroft, who was working as Edison’s assistant when this biography was written and had known Edison for 31 years through close association with him and the Edison companies. Signed by both Thomas Edison and Meadowcroft. Later 1921 edition. Signed by Thomas Edison as “Thos A Edison” and inscribed and signed by author Meadowcroft as “Wm H Meadowcroft” at front free endpaper. This is not the printed facsimile Edison signature on the consent page for his story to be told to all boys and girls but an original (Edison) signature executed very boldly in steel fountain pen and black ink in Edison’s notable broad stroke. Meadowcroft has inscribed “To Joel B. Hayden with best wishes” and dated it Nov. 7, 1930. Ex library markings at spine. Discoloration, soiled at front board above author name, bumping, rubbing at edges. Front hinge cracked.
