Life of Ambrose Bierce

Light blue cloth boards, gilt lettering at front and spine, gilt ruled at head and tail. Front cover with subtle biological deterioration on left side (about 1/5). Very Good. Bierce first met the eventual personal and professional friend, Walter Neale, in 1901 in Washington, D.C. Bierce urged Neale to become his biographer, which this volume embodies. Neale also published a collected works multi-volume set of Bierce’s works. Walter Neale (January 21, 1873 – September 28, 1933) founded and owned Neale Publishing Company, which released nearly 600 titles between 1894 and 1933, and ceased operation when Neale passed away of a heart attack.
