Hidden Fore-Edge Painting depicting a buffalo hunt. London: Frederick Warne & Co. Full red calf prize binding. Gilt stamped centerpiece on front board for Halleybury College, gilt ruled with fleuron cornerpieces, paneled spine with intricate arabesque in gilt. Stripe of discoloration running from centerpiece of front board upward approx. two inches, rubbing at edges and corners, couple of scuffs at rear board. Marbled edges around, marbled endpapers. Halleybury College bookplate at front endpaper. Tissue guard at frontispiece and title slightly foxed. Undated, circa 1880s. Near Fine.
